Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh (Azar)

Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh (Azar) is a certified dental specialist in both Root Canal Therapy and Dental Public Health. He earned his dental degree in Iran in 2001 and completed his specialty training in Dental Public Health (2007) and Endodontics (2010) at the University of Toronto, where he also obtained his PhD (2011). Dr. Azar is a Board-Certified Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Endodontics, as well as a Fellow and Examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
He is a tenured Full Professor of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, a Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and an investigator with the Toronto Health Economics and Technology Assessment Collaborative. At Mount Sinai Hospital, he leads the Divisions of Endodontics and Research and directs the Advanced Training Program in Orofacial Pain.
Dr. Azar maintains a part-time private practice in Toronto and Huntsville, in addition to his hospital-based practice at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he provides endodontic care to patients requiring treatment in a hospital setting due to medical, physical, or mental health considerations. A strong advocate of evidence-based dentistry, he is passionate about collaborative decision-making in both teaching and clinical practice, always prioritizing patient-centered care. Despite his demanding schedule in teaching, research, and clinical practice, he enjoys traveling, cycling, photography, and gardening with his wife and their dog.
Dr. Zain Manji
DDS, MD, FRCD(C), Diplomate ABOMS
Dr. Manji received his Bachelor’s and Dental Degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After completion of dental school, he continued his studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he also obtained his Medical Degree and Internship in General Surgery.
After completion of his residency, he initially worked in New York City at both a busy Manhattan practice and in academics at Mount Sinai Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital Center as a Clinical Instructor. Since his move from New York City, he has been enjoying working in Brampton.
He is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in both Canada and USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, registered as a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Manji is also a Board Examiner at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Manji also enjoys giving back to his community at home and abroad. At home he maintains a position as an Instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and is also involved in numerous outreach projects to aid the less fortunate.
He is surgical volunteer and a medical advisor for the MedLife, a not-for-profit organization that provides free reconstructive surgery to patients suffering from cleft lip and palate in rural India. He has also travelled to rural areas of Mexico to perform free cleft lip and palate surgery.
Dr. Manji is on staff at William Osler Health Centre and Mackenzie Health-Richmond Hill Hospital.
When not busy in the office, Dr. Manji enjoys spending his time with his family, photography, golfing and cycling.
